人均碳排放持续降低,加快建设“零碳校园”
构建“零碳校园”,中国高校的社会责任!
2020年9月22日,习近平总书记在第75届联合国大会一般性辩论上的重要讲话中表示,“应对气候变化《巴黎协定》代表了全球绿色低碳转型的大方向,是保护地球家园需要采取的最低限度行动,各国必须迈出决定性步伐。中国将提高国家自主贡献力度,采取更加有力的政策和措施,二氧化碳排放力争于2030年前达到峰值,努力争取2060年前实现碳中和。”
高校是社会的重要组成部分,作为人才培养、技术创新的重要机构,具有极强的社会引领作用。加快建设“零碳校园”,是我国现代化建设可持续发展的需要,也是高校应承担的责任。

In his significant speech at the general debate of the 75th United Nations General Assembly on September 22, 2020, General Secretary Xi Jinping stated, "Addressing climate change, the Paris Agreement represents the overarching direction for global green and low-carbon transformation. It constitutes the minimum action needed to protect our planet, and all countries must take decisive steps. China will enhance its nationally determined contributions, implement stronger policies and measures, and strive for its carbon dioxide emissions to peak before 2030. We aim to achieve carbon neutrality before 2060."
It is the social responsibility of Chinese universities to build a "Zero-carbon Campus".

As a practitioner of green operations, the International Campus cares much about carbon emissions. The Accounting Reports on Carbon Emission have been publicized since 2018 annually, aiming to encourage more students and faculty to be mindful of the impact of their behavior on campus carbon emissions.

碳排放情况
2022年国际校区全年温室气体排放折算成二氧化碳当量(CO2e)排放为18435.69吨。其中:直接温室气体排放的二氧化碳当量为590.61吨,直接温室气体包括食堂餐饮用天然气、教学科研楼冬季供暖消耗的天然气,以及来往杭州各校区班车和公务用车(不包括教职工私家车)排放;间接温室气体排放的二氧化碳当量为17845.09吨,间接温室气体排放主要为外购电力。
近五年碳排放情况对比:
随着校区的发展和师生人数的增加,2018年至2022年的校区总碳排放逐年增加,由于校区一直坚持可持续运营,生均和人均碳排放持续降低(2020年由于封校,师生不在学校生活与办公,人均碳排放明显降低)。

In 2022, the total greenhouse gas emissions from the International Campus were equivalent to 18,435.69 metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2e). Among these, the direct greenhouse gas emissions accounted for 590.61 metric tons of CO2e. Direct emissions encompass the consumption of natural gas for cafeteria catering, winter heating in academic buildings, as well as emissions from inter-campus shuttle buses and official vehicles (excluding personal vehicles of staff). The remaining 17,845.09 metric tons of CO2e were attributed to indirect greenhouse gas emissions, primarily resulting from the purchase of external electricity.
Comparative Carbon Emission Trends Over the Past Five Years:
As the campus has expanded and the student and faculty population has grown, the total carbon emissions of the campus have increased annually from 2018 to 2022. However, due to the campus's ongoing commitment to sustainable practices, both per capita and per student carbon emissions have steadily decreased. It is noteworthy that in 2020, due to campus closures and reduced on-site student and faculty activities, per capita carbon emissions experienced a significant decline.

加快建设“零碳校园”的行动准则
建设“零碳校园”需要持续的努力和全体师生的参与,我们将秉承以下行动准则。
责任与信息公开:作为绿色校园运营的实践者和引导者,我们要明确自己的职责,将“零碳校园”建设作为重要目标;同时及时、准确进行校园碳排放信息公开,让师生了解自己产生的碳排放量,引导大家约束自己的行为,积极参与“零碳校园”建设。
减碳运营:校园碳排放的主要来源是外购电力,在校园运营中制定节能策略,持续进行设施设备的调适与更换,加强垃圾分类,支持本地采购等。
能源配置:合理配置能源种类,增加可再生能源的使用,支持与配合相关科研课题的研究,让绿色科技引领可持续未来。

We will adhere to the following guiding principles:
Responsibility and Transparency: As practitioners and leaders of green campus operations, we must define our responsibilities and prioritize the construction of the "Zero Carbon Campus" as a significant objective. Simultaneously, we will ensure timely and accurate disclosure of campus carbon emissions information, enabling faculty and students to understand their own carbon footprint. This will guide everyone to regulate their behaviors and actively engage in the construction of the "Zero Carbon Campus."
Carbon Emission Reduction Operations: The primary source of campus carbon emissions is external purchased electricity. We will formulate energy-saving strategies during campus operations, continuously adjust and replace facilities and equipment, strengthen waste sorting, and support local procurement, among other measures.
Energy Allocation: We will reasonably allocate energy sources, increase the use of renewable energy, and support research related to relevant scientific and educational projects. This approach will allow green technology to lead us towards a sustainable future.
